Opening and Closing Endless-Style Hoops
Opening & Closing Hoops
Endless-style hoops are easy to open and close once you get the hang of it! If you’ve never worn an endless ring before, I recommend practicing the motion a few times before actually trying to insert your hoop. The important part of the process is taking your time.

Endless-style hoops are easy to open and close once you get the hang of it! If you’ve never worn an endless ring before, I recommend practicing the motion a few times before actually trying to insert your hoop. The important part of the process is taking your time.
Steps to opening and closing your hoop:
- Using your thumb and index fingers, hold both sides of the hoop low on the center line.
- Gently push one side of the hoop away from you in a twisting motion. Make sure you open it wide enough to insert it into your piercing, but not so wide that you distort the shape.
- Insert the hoop.
- Repeat the same twisting motion in reverse to close the hoop.
- TIP: Twisting a little past center, then back to center will help in butting the ends. When moving the ends back and forth, apply a little pressure to work the ends together. If the ends do not meet, repeat the same motion of back and forth, and apply pressure in the direction that it needs to go to fit, the titanium is not fragile. The butted ends should feel smooth to the touch.
NOTE: Hoop alignment with the smaller diameters (8mm or less) will be harder to adjust and may need to be inserted by a piercer, or a second pair of eyes and hands.

THE TWISTING MOTION IS VERY IMPORTANT! If you try to pull the ends of the hoop away from each other (THINK WISHBONE), then you will distort the shape of the hoop.
